Teaching Force and Motion

Hey y'all! Teaching force and motion is one of my favorite kindergarten and first grade units. It's so easy to incorporate movement into these lessons and students usually catch on pretty quickly.

On Monday, we read a book about force and motion and how things move. Then, we fill in our little foldable illustrating different ways to move. Tuesday through Thursday, students visit a series of stations investigating how things move.

They experiment with gravity, sort pushes and pulls, read a book about force, and more. These stations are always favorites in my classroom.

On Friday, for a simple assessment, my students brainstorm things they can push, pull, or both. It's a quick and easy way to check students' understanding.

This unit is super easy to prep but makes a huge impact. You can check it out more in my TpT store by clicking here. Be sure to follow me on TPT for all the latest updates, ideas, and resources.

I hope you found some new ideas for your next force and motion unit. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week and I'll talk to you soon.

Stay cozy,
