Teaching About Continents and Oceans

Hey y'all! Today, I'm excited to share with you my new unit on continents and oceans. I've been thinking about this unit for awhile and I love how it finally turned out.

On Monday, we start the unit by reading a book or watching a video about continents. Then, we label them all on our personal maps.

Tuesday through Thursday, students go to three stations to practice identifying continents and three stations to identify the oceans.

Student books about the continents and oceans are included, as well direction cards and recording sheets. On Friday, students cut out the pieces of the world map and put the puzzle together. Then, they label the continents and oceans on their map. This makes a great assessment for the end of the week.

I found these two books to help introduce the topic of continent and oceans as well. Swift Walker has a whole series of books about geography, and the two about continents and oceans are just right for this week. I can't wait to read these to my class.

I hope you got some new ideas for your classroom and your students enjoy these as much as my students do. You can get your own copy of this unit by clicking the pictures above or here

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to follow me on TPT for all the latest updates and resources. Have a great week and I'll talk to you soon!

Stay cozy,
