June Morning Work for First Grade

Hey, y'all! Summer is here. And whether your school year goes into June, you teach summer school, or your own children need some review time, June morning work is a fantastic way to review reading and math skills learned throughout the year.

Our morning work stemmed from a need to keep kids focused as they came in in the morning and ate their breakfast. We needed to be focused on academics and not have kids running around the room with syrupy, sticky fingers. So we started these morning work pages as a way to review (and sometimes pre-teach) skills we've learned this year.

Last year, we used these first thing in the morning. Next year, we'll also be using them as part of our "wind down after lunch time." 'Cause they're wired after lunch. They could also be used for fast finishers, enrichment or small groups, or for homework.

June's unit covers addition and subtraction, place value, counting coins, telling time, shapes, comparing numbers, balanced equations, number order, even and odd numbers, editing sentences, handwriting, contractions, compound words, syllables, nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and more!

You can find out more about this unit here. It is also part of a bigger year-long bundle to keep your students focused all school year long.

I'm always adding new things to my TPT store, so be sure to follow me for all the latest ideas, resources, and freebies.

I hope this helps with your planning for the summer and your school year. Have a wonderful week and I'll talk to you soon.

Stay cozy,
